MANILA – Following Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin, Smart Communications on Wednesday introduced South Korean actor Park Seo Joon as its latest international sponsor.
The 31-year-old actor, best known for recently starring in the series “Itaewon Class,” was introduced as the new face of Smart K-Life with an ad showing him in front of a Myanmar actress.
At a virtual press conference, executives from the telecommunications company shared what Park’s reaction was when he was chosen to become one of their sponsors.
“He was very happy and very proud of the fact that he will be joining the Smart family alongside Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin. I was aware of the campaigns we did with the first two Korean celebrities. He is also very aware of the huge fan base he has in the Philippines, ”said Jane Basas, Senior Vice President of Smart and Director of Consumer Wireless Business.
Basas said that Park’s team’s only request was to make their campaign different and unique from Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin’s.
“We made sure to bring out her fun side, we made sure to bring out her romantic personality so that she stands out against the two original campaigns that were quite corporate in treatment. I think he will be very happy with this one, ”he said.
Basas said Park will star in two campaigns and that Smart will launch its second commercial in the coming weeks.
When asked if they will bring Park to the Philippines in the future, Smart President and CEO Alfred Panlilo said: “Of course we plan to bring them. By contract, everyone would enter.
