1,524 new COVID-19 cases raise PH count to 373,144

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 27) – Coronavirus cases in the country surpassed 373,000 with 1,524 new infections reported by the Health Department on Tuesday.

The national count is now 373,144, of which 37,489 or 10 percent are currently ill patients.

This count excludes the most recent data from 15 testing labs that did not submit their reports on time, according to DOH.

According to the case bulletin, Negros Occidental had the highest number of new cases with 115. Cavite came in second with 76, followed by Benguet with 72, Quezon City with 67 and Laguna with 65.

Another 353 patients have also recovered, bringing the total number of COVID-19 survivors to 328,602.

Meanwhile, the death toll has reached 7,053, and 14 more succumbed to the disease.

The DOH said 10 duplicates were removed from the total case count as part of the data cleansing process, while five cases mistakenly reported as recoveries were re-labeled as deaths after final validation.

Metro Manila, which has been under varying degrees of lockdown since March, will maintain its general community quarantine status until November 30. Also to be placed under GCQ until the end of next month are Batangas, Lanao del Sur and the cities of Iloilo. , Bacolod, Tacloban, Iligan.
