CLARK FREEPORT – Coaches for both Barangay Geneva and Magnolia are eager to participate in their PBA Philippines Cup showdown on Sunday despite a confirmation from league officials about a player who is becoming a likely virus case before.

“Yes, we are ready to play,” said Kings coach Tim Cone, as he looked forward to the meeting between the two league rivals for the first time this season and without the crowd of fans watching in the stands.

“Let’s keep playing,” added the 62-year-old champion coach.

Magnolia’s counterpart Chito Victolero said the Hotshots are equally prepared, especially with the assurance given to them by league officials that playing inside the league bubble remains safe.

“As long as my guarantee is a safe kami, we will continue to play,” he said.

The league previously announced that the Geneva-Magnolia game will take place despite canceling the curtain opening between Blackwater and Rain or Shine after an Elite player was found to be a likely case of the virus.

Since then, the entire Blackwater team has been isolated.

But postponing the game between the Kings and undefeated Hotshots is not far-fetched. A pre-game press conference will be held in the University of Angeles Foundation gym.

The Kings will go into the 6:45 pm game with an undefeated 4-0 record and are looking to regain a portion of the lead currently held by the dormant TnT Tropang Giga (5-0).

It’s the Hotshots who are currently struggling, losing their last three games, including an 84-91 setback against Phoenix in which they lost control of a 17-point lead in the third quarter.
