Not all is going well after the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 beauty pageant held at the Baguio Country Club on Sunday, October 25.
This after Miss Taguig Sandra Lemonon shared negative posts on social media about the competition where Miss Iloilo Rabiya Mateo was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2020. Lemonon finished in the top 16 of the pageant.
During the broadcast of the contest, Lemonon uploaded a cryptic message on social media that read: “Get ready loves, tomorrow I will announce great news, it is time to be honest and talk about the facts.”
Another post said, “The truth always comes out, it’s just about syncing karma very soon, because we deserve justice.”
His other message read: “Open communication must start at home.”
Hours later, Shamcey Supsup-Lee, national director of Miss Universe Philippines, issued a statement: “Bearing defeat with dignity, accepting criticism with poise, receiving honors with humility – these are the marks of a true queen.”
Lemonon reacted: “Bring your tea. Accepting defeat with kindness is one of the many marks of being a beauty queen. But what you forgot to say is that true queens play fair, they don’t cheat. “
Finally, Lemonon made a revelation on social media: “So here’s the truth … Someone used packing tape at the swimwear competition.”
Miss Universe Philippines 2014 MJ Lastimosa has asked other girls to accept defeat.
“BBP2012 taught me the biggest lesson of my life in a contest. A true queen is someone who can accept defeat and overcome it. A crown does not define us, we define it. This is not the end, but just the beginning for our #MissUniversePhilippines girls. Congratulations to all, ”Lastimosa said.
In 2018, Lemonon went viral when he did not respond in Bb’s final Q&A. Pilipinas beauty contest. He was asked about his thoughts on the government’s “build, build, build” program, but he admitted he had no idea about it.
