Alex Gonzaga revealed that she and her family have finally recovered from COVID-19 after contracting the disease a few weeks ago.
She spoke about her experience in a vlog post on her YouTube channel yesterday, October 23.
“Many ask me why I haven’t been to ‘Lunch Out Loud’ yet. I didn’t appear on the show because it was COVID and thank God I survived, ”Alex explained. “Actually, the whole family.”

The actress said they contracted the disease after someone in her home, whom she did not name, went out to eat.
Alex’s mother, Pinty, was the first in her family to contract COVID-19. However, she, her father Bonoy, her fiancé Mikee Morada, and her assistant Sophie also contracted the disease.
Her parents were asymptomatic, but she, Mikee, and Sophie had mild symptoms. As for Alex, he experienced loss of taste and appetite, mild fever, sore throat, nasal congestion, and feeling weak.
He also assured that his sister Toni and his own family were safe and did not contract the disease.
After learning they had COVID-19, everyone was quarantined apart from everyone else. Alex and his parents stayed in separate rooms inside their house and covered their doors with a large sheet of plastic.
Once the two weeks of quarantine were over, they underwent swab tests to check if they had already recovered. Together with Alex and his parents, they also had all their staff and helpers in their home undergo a swab test twice to make sure they did not contract the disease.
Before ending his vlog, Alex advised his viewers to be extremely careful and disinterested during the ongoing pandemic.
“As much as possible,” he added, “you have to really take care of your body and boost your immune system kahit nasa loob lang kayo ng bahay (even if you’re indoors).” /outside
