ANGELES CITY – Two years since they split, TnT has not lost respect for former coach Nash Racela.
Bong Ravena, the man who took over when Racela was ousted by the franchise at the end of 2018, said the Tropang Giga did not take Blackwater for granted despite a superior roster and better record when they met Thursday night at the PBA Philippine Cup at the University of Angeles Foundation gym.
Having worked with Racela at TnT for quite some time, Ravena knew that the former coach knows the team he led to the playoffs five times in all six conferences that he was in front like the back of his hand.
“If coach Nash is organized din siya, alam niya lahat ng plays namin, so we can’t take that for granted,” said the TnT mentor, a former Racela MP during her time with the franchise.
“Most of his players are from us. So everyone knows such terrifying opponents. “

The match was the first meeting between Tropang Giga and Racela, who was awarded the pink sheet after a 1-3 start to the 2018 Governors Cup.
Ravena is aware of the great job that Racela has done so far with Blackwater in her first season as coach, leading the Elite to a 2-2 record heading into their encounter with Tropang Giga.
That Blackwater was coming off a 38-point loss to Alaska was also added motivation for the team to come back strong.

“Coming from a loss, we really hope they will get stronger, they will really fight. So we don’t need to relax, ”Ravena said.
Tropang Giga followed what they were told and did not back down to score a 109-96 victory and maintain their undefeated record in the All-Filipino conference at 5-0.
