MANILA, Philippines – Thirteen people in police custody escaped through a hole in the wall of the Caloocan City Council Custody Facilities Unit Extension early Thursday morning, police confirmed.
In an initial report from Northern Police District Director Brigadier General Ronnie Ylagan, Caloocan Police said detainees locked the jail through a hole made in the wall of their detention center around 1: 50 am
Police said the fugitives faced cases of illegal drugs, alarm and scandal, robbery and unjust harassment, among others.
Investigators are still investigating the jail incident while pursuit operations are under way to retrieve the other detainees.
