SpaceX has postponed his latest Starlink release, but Rocket Lab hopes to take off soon, and you can see the mission right here.
the spatial start It plans to send 10 small satellites into low Earth orbit atop one of its Electron rockets, which was scheduled to blast off from the company’s launch facility in New Zealand on Wednesday, but the mission was postponed at the last minute.
“We are withdrawing from today’s attempt. Some sensors are returning data that we want to investigate further. We have backup opportunities until November 3,” said the the company wrote on Twitter.
Rocket Lab’s thrusters are smaller and designed for lighter payloads than SpaceX and other competitors. This mission, dubbed In Focus, will launch nine new SuperDove satellites for Planet, which operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites on Earth at the moment.
Also on board, as part of a shared-ride arrangement, will be a Canon demonstration CubeSat that is equipped with a medium-sized telescope and an ultra-high-sensitivity camera to capture images of the Earth and the Moon.
Rocket Lab has plans to start recovering your rockets in the future using a daring helicopter maneuver, but we won’t see anything like it with this mission. The Electron rocket will wear out and fall into the Pacific Ocean.
