Olivarez said mayors are ready to amend local curfew ordinances within the week.

“Regarding the curfew, we need a local ordinance … Within the week, our City Council will amend the curfew ordinance prior to implementation,” he said in a text message.

During the meeting of mayors of Metro Manila and several members of the Interagency Working Group on Emerging Infectious Diseases on Sunday, Olivarez said that local executives challenged the relaxation of the quarantine age restrictions, which allow people aged 15 to 65 to leave .

He said that only those between the ages of 18 and 65 are allowed to roam freely in the National Capital Region after the IATF approved the mayors’ call to impose a slightly stricter restriction.

“We do not need a local ordinance for age restrictions, so it is ready for implementation,” said the mayor.

IATF Resolution No. 79, published on October 16, stated that local government units are free to impose a higher age limit for minors.

Duterte’s Cabinet previously appealed to the LGUs to shorten curfew hours to allow businesses to prosper.

Olivarez added that they agreed at the meeting to increase the church’s capacity from 10% to 30%.
