MANILA, Philippines – Several areas of the country are expected to have scattered rains on Sunday due to depression or extension of a low pressure area (LPA) and surface wind flow from the northeast.
The Philippine Astronomical, Geophysical and Atmospheric Services Administration (Pagasa) said the Eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao regions will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the LPA trough.
Meanwhile, surface wind flow from the northeast will affect northern and central Luzon, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains to the Cordillera Administrative Region, the Cagayan Valley and the Aurora and Quezon provinces.
It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos region and the rest of central Luzon.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Flash Floods, Landslide Warnings
Pagasa warned that flash floods and landslides can occur during moderate to heavy rains at times.
Sea conditions
Northern and Central Luzon will have moderate to strong winds in the northeast direction with moderate to rough coastal waters.
Meanwhile, light to moderate winds from the northeast to northwest will prevail over the rest of the country, along with mild to moderate sea conditions.
