MANILA— The number of Filipinos abroad who contracted COVID-19 rose to 11,117 on Wednesday with 9 new cases registered, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
However, only 3,134 are currently being treated for the disease, as 7,172 of those infected have recovered, while 811 have died.
The DFA reported 2 new recoveries and 1 new death.

Those receiving treatment for COVID-19 are broken down as follows by region: 507 in Asia Pacific, 171 in Europe, 2,290 in the Middle East and Africa, and 166 in the Americas.
In the Philippines, the new coronavirus has sickened 346,536 people so far. The count includes 6,449 deaths, 293,860 recoveries and 46,227 active cases.
