Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 14) – Tropical depression Ofel made landfall for the second time over Matnog in Sorsogon at 6 am Wednesday. He first landed at Can-avid in eastern Samar hours earlier.

State meteorologist PAGASA said it is moving faster at 25 kilometers per hour as it crosses the southern part of Sorsogon.

Storm signal No. 1 rises over Batangas, the southern parts of Laguna and Quezon, the Burias Islands, North Samar, East Samar, Samar and Biliran.

The Ofel tropical depression is considered to bring moderate to heavy rains, sometimes intense, over the Bicol region, the Calabarzon, Marinduque, Romblon and Mindoro provinces. Light to moderate, sometimes heavy rains will also be experienced in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, North Samar, Samar, East Samar, and Biliran due to weather disturbances.
