The Department of Health (DOH) recorded a total of 1,990 newly confirmed Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 344,713.
Of the confirmed cases, 44,958 (13.0 percent) are active cases, 293,383 (85.1 percent) have recovered, and 6,372 (1.8 percent) have died.
The main regions with cases in the last two weeks were the National Capital Region (NCR) with 510 or 28 percent, Region 4A (436 or 24 percent, and Region 10 (158 or 9 percent).
Of the 1,990 reported cases, 1,831 (92 percent) occurred in the last 14 days (September 30 – October 13, 2020).
There were 327 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 293,383.
Forty deaths were reported. The death toll stood at 6,372.
Of the 40 deaths, 18 occurred in October (45 percent), 15 in September (38 percent), 4 in August (10 percent), 1 in July (2 percent), 1 in June (2 percent) and 1 in April (2 percent).
The deaths were from Region 6 (13 or 32 percent), Region 4A (10 or 25 percent), CAR (3 or 8 percent), CARAGA (3 or 8 percent), NCR (3 or 8 percent) ), Region 1 (2 or 5 percent), Region 12 (2 or 5 percent), Region 5 (1 or 2 percent), Region 10 (1 or 2 percent), Region 11 (1 or 2 percent) ) and Filipino returning abroad (1 or 2 percent).
