‘SNL’ mocks vice president debate between Kamala Harris, Mike Pence and the Fly

This week it was the turn of Mike Pence and Kamala Harris.

The NBC variety show kicked off Saturday night’s episode by teasing the debate between Vice President Pence, played by Beck Bennett, and Harris, played by Maya Rudolph.

“Good night, I’m Susan Page, and I missed the book club because of this,” Kate McKinnon said, playing the moderator. “Tonight you will notice that among the candidates we have installed buffet style sneeze guards because one of you works for patient zero.”

The McKinnon page then asked Pence de Bennett its first question.

“The issue is the coronavirus,” he said.

“Damn it,” Pence de Bennett replied.

Rudolph’s Harris and Bennett’s Pence joked back and forth before getting to the topic of President Trump’s health.

“As he heard from his GP, Dr. Handsome Liar, Trump is in peak physical condition,” said Pence de Bennett.

He then accused Harris of Rudolph of failing to take a possible coronavirus vaccine.

“Look, if Dr. Fauci says a vaccine is good, I’ll be first in line like it’s an Anne Taylor sample sale,” she said. “But if Trump says it’s safe, I’ll throw that vaccine in the trash like last week’s shrimp pad thai.”

But the “SNL” vice president’s debate was more than just Harris and Pence. It also featured Jim Carrey’s Joe Biden watching at home.

“I need to do something, I need to teleport into that debate and save the soul of this nation,” he said.

Carrey’s Biden then got into a teleportation machine, which accidentally turned him into the fly that landed on Pence’s head in the debate.

It also quickly transformed him into Jeff Goldblum, who starred in the 1986 film “The Fly.”

“God created the dinosaurs. The dinosaurs became Republicans. The Republicans created Trump,” Carrey said as Biden, doing a Golblum impression. “Life finds a way.”

After more flies landed on Pence’s head, McKinnon’s Page said, “I think we need to close this debate for the good of humanity.”

Rudolph’s Harris then used a fly swatter to hit the fly on Pence’s head, and the show kicked off with his signature catchphrase, “Live … from New York! It’s Saturday night!”
