MANILA, Philippines – The latest wave of recoveries reported by the Department of Health (DOH) was 17,057, reducing the number of active cases to 39,945 as of Sunday.
According to COVID-19 data from the DOH, 2,502 new confirmed cases were reported, bringing the total number of infections to 339,341. Meanwhile, the total number of recoveries is now 293,075.
Sadly, another 83 deaths were recorded, bringing the death toll to 6,321.
Of the 39,945 active cases, about 83 percent experienced mild symptoms, while 11.2 percent were asymptomatic. Meanwhile, another 1.8 percent had severe symptoms and 3.9 percent were in critical condition.
DOH said 87 cases were removed from the total cases after duplicate entry validation.
