‘Here comes the sun’: Vice Ganda excited about the return of ‘It’s Showtime’ on free TV

MANILA – Vice Ganda hopes to welcome Kapamilya viewers to free television, with the announcement of ABS-CBN Corp.’s block time agreement with Zoe Broadcasting Network.

A2Z, Zoe’s newly renamed Channel 11, will be the new home for some Kapamilya shows starting October 10.

The daily television show at noon, “It’s Showtime,” will be one of those shows.

“It’s Showtime on A2Z Channel 11 starting tomorrow. Haiiiiikennatweeeeyyytttt !!!!” Vice Ganda, who is one of the show’s co-hosts, said in a tweet on Friday.

“Here comes the sun, honey …” Vice Ganda also said in an Instagram post.

The return to free-to-air television of some Kapamilya programs comes five months after ABS-CBN Channel 2 initially ceased broadcasting in May, due to the Duterte administration not renewing its franchise.

The subsequent denial of its franchise renewal request by the House of Representatives in July meant that ABS-CBN, the network, would no longer be able to return to the air on free television.

In recent months, ABS-CBN has been broadcasting its programs by cable on the Kapamilya channel and by free broadcast on Kapamilya Online Live.

In addition to the blocktime deal with ABS-CBN, A2Z’s renewed programming will also include shows from the Christian Broadcasting Network, Knowledge Channel, and Light TV.

The new A2Z will be broadcast on Channel 11 on free TV via analog broadcast in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. It will also be available from many cable and satellite TV providers like Sky Cable.

Zoe Broadcasting Network Inc. was founded by Bro. Eddie Villanueva.
