2020 Toyota Fortuner: prices, specs and features

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) recently sent us an invitation to a launch event scheduled for October the 17th, and now we’re pretty sure it’s the revamped Fortuner that’s on the way. Aside from the fact that we’ve already seen it on our roads, our source has now sent us all the details on this new-looking SUV – specs, features, and pricing included.

Let’s start with the variants and prices. The top-of-the-line Legender variant that launched in Thailand earlier this year will arrive here as the ‘LIMITED’ and it will take the place of the 4×4 V variants in the lineup. These variants will receive a price increase of at least P113,000. Meanwhile, the two 4×2 V variants will get price cuts of P120,000. Then among these, TMP will add two new variants.

Additionally, we have noted that the new price list implies that the gasoline variant has been discontinued; We will keep you informed about it. For a detailed view, you can refer to the following table:

Now for the specs. We have been told that the high specification units of the new Fortuner will be powered by 201 hp, 500 Nm 2.8 liter turbo diesel which is now available on the recently introduced Hilux. The lower variants retain the 150 hp, 400 Nm 2.4 liter turbo diesel. Both powertrains will be mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox, while the basic variant can be obtained with a six-speed manual.

As for additional details, the Q and LTD variants will have Toyota Safety Sense with features such as collision avoidance assist, lane departure alert and adaptive cruise control. These units also have leather seats with forward ventilation and wireless charging inside the cabin, as well as a power liftgate.

All trims except base G variants have a push-start smart entry system, a wide-view monitor, a wood-trimmed leather steering wheel, a ‘Sport’ drive mode, an eight-inch audio display inches, automatic climate control and automatic power windows throughout. Standard features across the range include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and speed-sensing door locks

Also worth noting here are the new exterior colors that are supposed to be available: Two-Tone Attitude Black Mica with Silver Metallic or White Pearl (LTD exclusive) and Sparkling Black Pearl Crystal Shine (Q and V variants only).
