MANILA, Philippines – The Health Department recorded 2,291 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s number of cases to 324,762 as of Monday.
Of the total cases, 45,799 are considered active.
Most of the 85.6% of active cases present mild symptoms, 9.2% are asymptomatic, 1.6% present severe symptoms and 3.6% are in critical condition.
Metro Manila registered the highest number of new cases, with 825 cases, followed by Batangas (140), Laguna (128), Rizal (114) and Cavite (102).
DOH also recorded 87 new recoveries, bringing the total to 273,123, while the death toll also rose to 5,840 with 84 new deaths.
DOH also removed 26 duplicates from the total case count, 18 of which are recovered cases.
Furthermore, 25 cases previously labeled as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation. [ac]
