WASHINGTON, DC – US President Donald Trump walked past supporters Sunday in front of the hospital where he was being treated for COVID-19 after announcing a “surprise visit” to his supporters on Twitter.

Seen wearing a dark mask, waving to the crowd, the president’s caravan passed before returning to Walter Reed Military Hospital near Washington.

“We are going to give a little surprise to some of the great patriots that we have on the street,” Trump said in a video posted on Twitter shortly before his appearance.

“I’m about to pay a little surprise visit.”

Trump also said he “learned a lot about Covid” by “actually going to school,” as he has battled the virus in hospital.

“This is the real school. This is not the school of ‘let’s read the books’, and I understand it, and I understand it, and it is something very interesting, “he added.

Trump’s doctors said Sunday that he “has continued to improve” and added that he could be discharged Monday.
