MANILA, Philippines – Police Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, head of the COVID Shield Joint Task Force, ordered police officers to coordinate with barangay officers to regulate video and drinking sessions to minimize noise, especially during the hours when students at home may be attending their classes online.

“Our local police staff and barangay officials must work together to provide all necessary assistance to ensure that our online students can concentrate on their study,” Eleazar said in a statement released Sunday.

“Your JTF COVID Shield understands the difficulties in online classes especially for students because almost everyone is new to this. That is why we are finding ways to help them at least make their homes and community conducive to learning, ”she said.

As of Sunday, the police task force said the total number of offenders from the lockdown had reached 440,566. Of these, 167,971 were warned and 158,545 were fined.
