MANILA, Philippines – Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra is not one to back down, even with the odds against him.

Trailing 0-2 in the NBA Finals against the highly favored Los Angeles Lakers, Spoelstra isn’t giving an inch to pressure.

“We don’t give a (expletive) what other people think,” Spoelstra told the media after his 114-124 loss in the second game on Friday (Saturday Manila time).

“What does it take? Whatever it takes. It’s that simple,” he added about what his team will have to do to overcome the challenge.

No longer a favorite against superstar duo LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and the rest of the Lakers, Spoelstra’s team took a major hit with key players Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo offside due to injury, their painfully evident absence in the second game.

But Spoelstra is not one to make excuses and still expects his team to act with a “next man” attitude.

“If you want something enough, you will figure it out,” Spoelstra said.

“Our group is extremely stubborn, persistent and we just have to figure out how to beat this opponent,” added the Heat mentor.

The Heat are no strangers to overcoming seemingly tough challenges, knocking down better seeds on their way to the final.

But with history against them, should they fall to a 0-3 hole in Game 3, things should start to change for Miami, and soon.
