Lionel Messi has revealed that “many things have hurt me in recent weeks” when explaining his attack on Barcelona after the controversial departure of Luis Suárez.
Suárez, who formed a strong relationship both on and off the pitch with Messi, moved to Atlético de Madrid last week, ending six years of great success in Catalonia.
And Messi then took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the situation, claiming that Barca should have been more respectful in the way they let him go.
The Argentine superstar, who was eager to let Barca be forced into a U-turn, even claimed that his friend was expelled from the club.

Messi has now explained his actions, saying that he felt the right thing to do was to speak up.
He told the Spanish news outlet Sport : “I said what I felt in what was a difficult moment.
“I understand that people have thought that I should have shut up or let it go, as I did on many other occasions, but many things have hurt me in the last few weeks and that was my way of expressing it.

Messi has also called for an end to his war with Barcelona after addressing fans to say that he always cared about the best interests of the club.
Messi shook the football world this summer when he told Barça that he wanted to leave the Camp Nou, and was linked with a shock trade to Manchester City.
He eventually relented, unwilling to go to court for his future after the La Liga giants insisted that would-be suitors would have to pay his £ 624 million release clause.
“After so many disagreements, I would like to end that,” Messi told the Spanish publication. “All Barça fans must come together and assume that the best is yet to come.”
And he added: “I take responsibility for my mistakes, if there were any, they were only to make Barça better and stronger.
“Adding passion and enthusiasm will be the only way to achieve the objectives – always united and rowing in the same direction “.
