SEOUL – South Korean boy group BTS topped two of Billboard’s top charts with their new single “Dynamite” this week, Billboard said Tuesday.

“Dynamite” returned to No. 1 on Billboard’s top singles chart, the Hot 100, after spending two searches at No. 2.

The song had spent two weeks at the top of the singles chart after debuting at No. 1, becoming the 20th song in Billboard history to spend the first two consecutive weeks of its debut at No. 1.

With their hit song bouncing to the top, the group itself also climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart from No. 2 a week earlier, according to Billboard.

“BTS bounces 2-1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart to become the best musical act in America for a 10th week total,” he said.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity through key music consumption metrics, combining album and track sales, radio streaming, streaming, and social media fan engagement to provide a multi-dimensional weekly ranking of artist popularity. Billboard noted.

He added that BTS is the first non-solo artist to reach double-digit weeks at the top of the Artist 100 chart.

Previously, Billboard attributed the return of BTS’s new song to the top spot on the singles chart to the release of four new remixes, the combined sales of which accounted for 52 percent of the song’s total sales.

The song has led the American music industry, in terms of digital song sales, for five consecutive weeks since its release, he said.

Meanwhile, Billboard said “Dynamite” also topped the Billboard Global Excluding US chart for the second week in a row, while it also rose to first place on the Billboard Global 200 from No. 2 a week earlier. Yonhap
