MANILA, Philippines – A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur on Saturday night, state seismologists said.
In a report, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the earthquake struck 75 kilometers northeast of Bayabas, Surigao del Sur at 7:33 pm.
The earthquake of tectonic origin had a depth of four kilometers. Aftershocks are not expected after the earthquake.
The earthquake is a replica of the 5.7 magnitude quake that struck the similar city on September 21.
