Despite being the “entry-level” Rolls-Royce, the 2021 Ghost is still a very stylish sedan. Like the flagship Phantom, almost every luxury option, design, and feature you can think of can be added for a fee.
There is one exception: you can’t have more legroom if you wanted on the Ghost. Well until now.
Rolls-Royce has something in store for customers who want a Ghost with more room and legroom, and their solution is the 2021 Ghost Extended.
How much more space does the Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended offer? Well, the British luxury brand says it offers 170mm more space compared to the standard Ghost. As a result, it provides more rear legroom than any four-door sedan, even beating the Phantom. The only other four-door sedan with more legroom would be the Phantom Extended.
Despite being much longer, it is difficult to distinguish the standard Ghost and this Extended model. Rolls-Royce covered the extra length by extending only the tailgate and the body around it. As a result, it allowed designers to retain the sleek original lines and design of the new Ghost that we initially saw a few weeks ago. For reference, the 2021 Ghost Extended looks a lot like the flagship Phantom, aside from the large grille.
Since the Ghost Extended is essentially a longer model, the entire undercarriage has been transferred. Under the hood, it uses the same 6.75-liter V12 as the Cullinan and produces 570 hp and 850 Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic gearbox sends power to all four wheels. Interestingly, it also comes with four-wheel steering for the first time.
No pricing was announced for the 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended, but expect to pay a bit more for the extra legroom and cabin space. In the US, the standard Ghost already starts at $ 332,500 (Php 16.2 million), and that’s without adding any additional features just yet. Expect Philippine prices to double (more or less) given the cost of importing and taxes.
So if you want a sleek sedan with plenty of legroom, but don’t want to break the bank (if your bank is Swiss) for a Phantom Extended, then this Ghost Extended would be perfect for you.
