Liza Soberano files a complaint against a telecommunications employee for comment of ‘violation’

Liza Soberano went ahead with her plan to file a criminal case against an Internet user who she claims to have spoken ill of her on social media.

The 22-year-old actress reportedly flocked to the Quezon City regional trial court accompanied by her manager Ogie Diaz and legal counsel Atty. Jun Lim on Thursday morning to press charges against Melissa Olaes, a telecommunications employee who allegedly made a rape comment directed at her in a Facebook post.

Soberano said: “It was on Facebook under a chain of comments. It wasn’t the person’s actual post, but he left a comment below someone else’s post a few days ago.

“It sounded like ‘Looks like I don’t have a job anymore. So I can do whatever I want, it doesn’t matter that my image is damaged and then it will be nice to be raped ”.

“I was really upset that the fact that this is a rape joke is not something to be taken lightly. And the fact that I’m a woman, I would never in a million years make a joke like that, ”he added.

According to his legal counsel, the violation comment is a clear violation of Section 4 (c) (4) of the Republic Law. No. 10175, also known as the “Cybercrime Prevention Law of 2012”, in relation to article 355 of the Revised Penal Code.

Sovereign decided to file a formal complaint with the aim that “people know the consequences of speaking like this on social networks.”

“I want people to learn that everything has consequences, like jokes about rape, because that’s not an easy matter.”
