The usual red carpet at the 72nd Emmy Awards is very different, but the stars are still doing their best for this year’s virtual event, whether they’re dressed smartly or casually.
Jameela Jamil opted for a casual chic look, wearing a rainbow sequin robe from Markarian NYC over all white pajamas. “Without bra? Without heels? NO PROBLEM, ”Jamil wrote in an Instagram post with the outfit. “Wearing pajamas to the 72nd Emmy Awards (from home) is my kind of vibe.” Jamil plays Tahani Al-Jamil on NBC’s “The Good Place,” which is set to receive seven awards tonight.
“Euphoria” star Zendaya, on the other hand, who is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, didn’t let the virtual nature of the show stop her from dressing to the nines. She was wearing a beautiful black and purple dress by designer Christopher John Rogers, complete with Bulgari jewelry. Rogers shared a video of Zendaya showing off her dress.
“Hollywood” actor Jeremy Pope also impressed with his Emmys look: a patchwork suit in various shades of brown. In addition to sharing a solo photo of himself, Pope tweeted a photo with his date, which was none other than his mother.
Daniel Levy, whose show “Schitt’s Creek” is nominated for a total of 15 awards, looked elegant in a gray jacket and Thom Browne skirt and the latest accessory this season: a mask. Fan account @danlevystyle shared a photo of Levy’s full outfit.
“The Morning Show” star Jennifer Aniston was the epitome of comfort in her pre-Emmy outfit, which consisted of gray pajamas, a face mask and a glass of champagne. “Prepping for the Emmys … in my other mask,” Aniston wrote in her Instagram post. Later, Aniston presented the first prize of the night in a simple yet stunning black dress.
Mark Duplass mixed classy and casual by adding a tuxedo jacket over a flannel pajama shirt. “Tonight’s look is brought to you by the ‘Cyrus’ awards season tuxedo jacket and the Clark Griswold Christmas Jammies limited collection from Target,” Duplass captioned an Instagram selfie.
Tituss Burgess looked red hot in a matching sport-inspired cherry colored ensemble from the Lee Rickie collection featuring Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. In his post, the “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” star teased that he also has a second look on deck.
Dylan McDermott, nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for “Hollywood,” posed for a photo with his puppy, who sported a bow tie to match McDermott’s blue suit. “Almost time for the Emmys!” McDermott wrote.
Regina King, who is nominated for her performance in “Watchmen,” posted a creative video to show off her blue off-the-shoulder Schiaparelli Couture dress by Daniel Roseberry. She also made a statement by wearing a “Breonna Taylor” t-shirt during the ceremony.
Tracee Ellis Ross looked like a living Emmy in a gold Alexandre Vauthier dress and matching Jimmy Choo heels. “How fun to dress up! I can’t say I miss the frenzied energy of the red carpet or wearing high heels, but I do miss a pretty dress! “Ross wrote on Instagram.
