Those who pre-ordered PS5 through Amazon may not get their consoles on launch day.

According to an email sent to Amazon customers, those who pre-ordered PS5 they may not receive their consoles at launch.

The email indicates that the problem is due to high demand.

“We are contacting you regarding your PlayStation 5 order to inform you in advance that you may not receive this item on launch day due to high demand,” the email read via The Verge.

“We will do our best to deliver the item to you as soon as possible once it is available.”

Pre-orders for the console are now active and reserved stock appears to have been depleted at various retailers. This seems to be the case even for those who pre-ordered a PS5 via invitation-only PSN pre-order.

A recent report suggests that Sony has booked 60 Delta aircraft to facilitate faster dispatch of its console. Additionally, Sony said there will be more stock of the console at launch than for PS4 during the same window. So hopefully retailers will know how many consoles they can pre-sell again.
