While deep down we all wanted the Denver Nuggets to make another wild comeback, the LA Lakers just didn’t let it get to that stage. The Lakers have so far not won Game 1 of any round, but this victory will likely crush the Nuggets’ hopes. They were too dominant for the Nuggets to handle and made them look exactly like the losers we imagined they would be when they played the Clippers. Nuggets star players Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic got into foul trouble and there was no turning back afterward. However, the Lakers center really seems to enjoy playing the Joker.
Nikola Jokic should watch out for Lakers Dwight Howard
Dwight Howard may not have had many opportunities to prove himself in the playoffs until now. He only played a total of 16 minutes in the second round against the Rockets. But the situation in the Western Conference Finals is very different. With a lot at stake and no margin for error, Dwight gave it his all in Game 1 against the Nuggets. With just 10 minutes left in the second quarter, Howard was an asset on the defensive end. He entered Nikola Jokic’s crew and even took fouls that landed him on the bench in the remaining 7 minutes of time.

Can the Denver Nuggets get another upset?
Considering the Lakers’ defensive prowess as seen in Game 1, the Nuggets won’t have it easy. Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic need to have incredible outings with other players who drop three more if they are to have a chance to win. They also need to work on how to stop Anthony Davis in the paint.
The purples and golds aren’t going to make the same mistakes the Clippers did. This time, the Nuggets will need a lot more luck and better performance to beat their competition.
