Toyota reinforces the 2020 Hilux Conquest

Toyota Motor Philippines just took the wraps off the 2020 Hilux. The new model features a more robust appearance, powerful performance, combined with Toyota’s signature quality, durability and reliability.

The new Hilux makes its commanding presence felt with its even tougher appearance characterized by a large hexagonal grille. As before, it will be offered in a number of variants, from the regular Hilux line, to the high-end Conquest 4 × 2 and 4 × 4.

Stealing the scene are the Conquest variants with dual-beam LED headlights and line-guide LED taillights. At the rear, they are equipped with a sports bar, over the fender garnish and Conquest decals on both sides of the cargo bed. The tailgate has Hilux signature branding, with LED taillights. The Conquest variant also features a body liner and a tailgate assistant.

A digitized disc

Toyota has improved the driving experience from the moment you enter the truck. The Conquest variants get smart entry with a push start system, while the Hilux G and E versions benefit from keyless entry.

More information and entertainment are available to the driver with a 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display between its dials. This displays vital trip information such as fuel consumption, range and other readings that can be configured to suit the driver.

For entertainment, there is built-in Apple CarPlay / Android Auto compatibility for Conquest, G and E grades. These can be controlled with steering wheel mounted controls.

Palpable performance

The new Hilux 4 × 4 variants are powered by a 2.8L 1GD-FTV engine that delivers a maximum power of 201 HP (204 Ps) and a maximum torque of 500 Nm for the AT variant. The MT variant, with intelligent manual transmission, produces a maximum torque of 420 Nm.

The 4 × 2 Conquest, G and E variants will be equipped with the 2.4L 2GD-FTV engine that produces 148 HP and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. Both the 1GD and 2GD engines have been tuned to return 4-5% more fuel efficiency compared to the previous generation Hilux.

Safety on every trip

An enviable set of security features reigns in that power. There are SRS airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with brake assist and electronic brake force distribution, vehicle stability control, and hill start assist control.

Conquest 4 × 4 benefits from seven airbag variants, hill assist control, active traction control, clearance probe sensors and a reversing camera.

Even more variants

The new Hilux can be had as a Conquest 4 × 4 (2.8 liters) or 4 × 2 (2.4 liters) variant with a new exclusive color, Emotional Red. There is also the regular Hilux line (2.4 liters) with G AT and MT trims. , or E MT, from Php 1.3M.

Toyota also offers a number of Hilux variants specifically for commercial fleets with variants such as the J on 4 × 4 and 4 × 2. Businesses with more specialized needs can also make use of the FX Cab and Chassis, Cab and Chassis. (with rear passenger cabin) and Cargo (rear cargo van).

The new Hilux will be available at all 70 TMP dealerships nationwide by September 14, 2020 for the Conquest, G and E variants. The Hilux Cargo variant will be available on October 26, 2020.
