NEIL Etheridge hopes to be part of Birmingham City FC’s big plans, including a bid to return to the Premier League.
Etheridge will have a fresh start after signing with Birmingham City FC. The Filipino-Englishman played for three seasons with Cardiff City, but in his final year he suffered an injury and relegated him to a second goalkeeper for the club.
Etheridge, 30, is delighted to have closed the deal, reportedly four years, following speculation about where it is headed.
“I’m not going to lie. I knew there was a lot of speculation. Over the past 18 months, there has been a lot of speculation about my career as to where I am moving, so I’m glad it went out of line and I’m here with a blue jersey. I’m very happy about that, “Etheridge said in an interview with Blues TV.

Etheridge said he has accepted the club’s plans to improve and hopefully move up to the Premier League.
“I spoke with the club, with the managers, and the vision of moving forward and the project that we are building here. I am very happy to be a part of it. Obviously I was with Cardiff for a few years. It was a success. I want to bring that maturity and experience here and work together with the rest of the team and the manager, ”Etheridge said.
The Azkals goalkeeper was the club’s seventh signing after barely remaining in the EFL Championship by finishing 20th of 24.
“I always see this team as a great club. It is a great club. I am very happy to be a part of it. It’s about getting my feet under the table, meeting the guys in the locker room, meeting the coach, the goalkeeping coach, the staff. I’m very comfortable, ”Etheridge said.
