Rising star Adiwang open to expanding from MMA

MANILA, Philippines – Team Lakay’s latest star, Lito Adiwang, has been a monster at the ONE Championship Circle.
In his mixed martial arts matches at ONE Championship, Adiwang has been on a roll, winning all five of his fights with the Singapore-based promotion dating back to his matches at the ONE Warrior Series in 2018.
While his dominance in MMA is more than impressive, strawweight contender Adiwang did not rule out the possibility of switching to other disciplines such as kickboxing and Muay Thai.
“The thought has crossed my mind. That is definitely something I plan for the future,” Adiwang told ONE Championship.
“I love fighting and hitting, and I can see myself succeeding if I make that transition.”
But Adiwang has yet to show signs of slowing down on the MMA scene, with a three-fight winning streak since signing a six-digit contract with ONE Championship.
“Of course, there is a perfect time for everything … However, right now, I need to focus on my MMA career and prove myself in my division. I want to become an MMA world champion,” Adiwang said.
For his MMA champion dreams, Adiwang will have to wait for a new strawweight world champion in addition to his stablemate Joshua Pacio.
Adiwang had already expressed his reluctance to face Paccius for the title.
If Pacio retains the title for an extended period of time, Adiwang said he would be willing to move up to the flyweight division.
