K-pop stars earn platinum certifications for albums and songs

South Korea’s Gaon Music Chart has released new platinum certifications for album and song downloads and streaming.

EXO-SC’s Sehun and Chanyeol’s album “1 Billion Views” received double platinum certification for selling at least 500,000 copies. The album was released on July 13 and topped Gaon’s monthly album chart for July with 497,325 copies sold.

BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That” Special Edition was certified platinum for selling at least 250,000. As of August, the album has sold 302,752 copies according to the Gaon Album Chart.

ATEEZ’s “Zero: Fever Part 1” also received platinum certification after it sold 347,207 copies through August. TXT’s “Dream Chapter: Magic” was also certified platinum.

In the download category, Gaon Music Chart has certified “Only One for Me” by boy band BTOB and “There Has Never Been A Day I Haven’t Loved You” by veteran singer Im Chang Jung as platinum for at least obtaining 2.5 million song downloads. .

In the streaming category, Jeon Sang-keun’s “I Still Love You A Lot” earned platinum certification for reaching 100 million streams.

Last month, Gaon certified the following albums: Seventeen’s “Heng: garae,” millions; NCT 127’s “Neo Zone: The Final Round,” IZ * ONE’s “Oneiric Diary,” and TWICE’s “More & More,” Double Platinum; and Stray Kids’ “Go Live” Platinum.
