Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 8) – After ordering a reorganization among the three top positions in the Philippine National Police, PNP Police Chief General Camilo Cascolan ordered another round of reorganization among the top officials.
According to a PNP statement on Tuesday, the reorganization involves the assignment of two- and one-star generals, and police colonels, to new posts at Camp Crame units and regional police offices.
Police General Bernard Banac was appointed the new Director of the PNP Training Service after serving as PNP Spokesperson and head of the Office of Public Information. Banac will be replaced by Police Colonel Ysmael Yu as acting chief of PIO effective September 9.
Meanwhile, the new Director of Investigation and Detective Management is Police Major General Marni Marcos Jr. as of September 10, while Police Major General Celso Pestano was appointed Director of
Information and communication technology management.
Police Brigadier General Pascual Muñoz Jr. was appointed as Regional Director of the Mimaropa Regional Police Office and Police Brigadier General Jonnel Estomo will assume the position of Regional Director of the Regional Police Office 7.
Cascolan previously ordered a major reshuffle in the ranks of the police after the retirement of Police General Archie Gamboa as head of the PNP.
