BTS’s new English bop “Dynamite” broke a YouTube record last week, garnering the most views in 24 hours of any music video in the site’s history. Now the Bangtan Boys have reached another milestone, with the pastel-colored clip becoming the most talked about music video on YouTube.

According to Chart Data, BTS’s “Dynamite” now has the title of most talked about music videos on YouTube, accumulating more than 6.5 million comments since its release on August 21. The previous record was also held by BTS, with nearly 6.3 million comments on their 2017 song “DNA” (which, by the way, is a must-hear hit).

Before BTS fans known as Armys took them to the top, the previous record holder was their South Korean colleague PSY, whose 2012 global hit “Gangnam Style” has more than 5 million comments.

BTS has also been shining on the charts with a bit of funk and soul, with “Dynamite” debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hottest 100. The group is the first entirely South Korean act to reach the top of the chart.

“When I checked the list, I wasn’t sure if this website I was looking at was really real,” singer Jungkook said at a press conference on Wednesday, which Mashable attended via live broadcast. “I am very grateful to all the other members, and to be able to be a part of this milestone is a great honor.”

BTS leader RM attributed the landmark achievement in part to “Dynamite” being “easy to sing and hum,” thus capturing a broader American audience who might not otherwise be familiar with his work.

“It doesn’t have a general message at the macro level,” RM said at the press event. “Sometimes the simplest messages really get across. I daresay all of these factors came together to create this achievement. I think we were very lucky. I think it is our responsibility to understand this and continue to do so.”

BTS now has their sights set on a solo Grammy performance, having previously appeared on stage alongside Lil Nas X for “Seoul Town Road.”

“Now I’d like to do just one performance, just BTS on the Grammy Awards stage,” rapper Suga said. “Our goal is simply to perform on stage at the Grammy Awards.”

“For COVID-19 to end, many people are doing their best and doing their best to end this disease,” said singer Jimin. “What we can do is heal these people as best we can. This will be our new goal.”
