MANILA, Philippines – Hot and humid weather, especially during midday, is expected in most of the country by Monday, state forecasters said.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather forecast for Sunday afternoon, showers can still be expected on the western side of Luzon due to the southwest monsoon or Habagat.
Isolated thunderstorms can also bring afternoon and evening rain, but these will only last for a short time, Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, Typhoon Haishen (formerly Kristine) continues to move away from the country and is currently 1,295 kilometers northeast of the extreme north of Luzon.
Temperatures over Luzon will be high, ranging between 26 and 33 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila, Puerto Princesa and Legazpi, while Tuguegarao will register temperatures between 24 and 34 degrees.
Meanwhile, Visayas and Mindanao will have temperatures between 26 and 33 degrees Celsius in Tacloban, Cebu, Iloilo and Davao, while they are expected to be between 25 and 34 degrees Celsius in Zamboanga.
Pagasa expects the warm weather to continue for most of next week.
