(CNN) – Wearing a green coat and speaking from his hospital bed, Jacob Blake delivered a message to his followers Saturday night, warning them that everything can change in an instant.

“Your life and not just your life, your legs, something you need to move, to move forward in life, it can be taken that way, man,” Blake said, snapping his fingers.

His attorney, Ben Crump, posted the video on Twitter On Saturday, 29-year-old Blake recovers from the injuries he sustained after being shot seven times by a Kenosha, Wisconsin police officer.

A video clip of the incident shows an officer shooting Blake as he tries to get in through the driver’s side door of a pickup truck. His three children, ages 3, 5 and 8, were in the car at the time.

The shooting left Blake paralyzed from the waist down.

The incident also reignited protests over police brutality and systemic racism that began after George Floyd’s death in police custody in May.

Blake said he has staples in his back and stomach and is in pain all day.

“It hurts to breathe. It hurts to sleep. It hurts to move from side to side. It hurts to eat,” he said. “You don’t want to have to deal with this.”

He also asked viewers to make a change for the better.

“Please tell them to change their lives,” he said. “We can stick together, make some money, make everything easier for our people.”
