Officials from the Joint Administrative Order Group are studying whether the University of Santo Tomas violated JAO guidelines when it reportedly conducted a training bubble at Sorsogon during quarantine.

Games and Amusement Board Chairman Baham Mitra, who is part of the tripartite group made up of the GAB, the Philippine Sports Commission and the Department of Health, said they will submit a report to the Justice Department on Monday.

“Pwede silang ma-sanctioning the DOJ if they are found guilty,” Mitra said after the group’s meeting on Friday.

The meeting was attended by PSC President Butch Ramirez, CHED President Popoy de Vera, DOH Representative Rodley Carza, and Mitra.

GAB, PSC, and DOH are tasked with realigning amateur and professional sports tournaments and practices during the pandemic.

UST has been at the center of controversy after its men’s basketball team allegedly violated government health protocols by holding training camp.
