Bong Revilla: My quarantine is over

MANILA, Philippines – Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., who tested positive for the coronavirus in early August, completed his quarantine period after a month away from his family.

In a Facebook post Thursday, Revilla said her doctors told her she could leave her isolation room.

“My quarantine is over,” he said.

“After more than a month, I can finally be with my na walang pangamba family at all,” he added.

In a separate post, the senator said he was finally able to dine with his family after weeks of self-isolation.

I was finally able to have dinner with my family tonight after weeks of self-isolation. Thank you for all your concern and support for my recovery. 🙏

He also thanked those who offered prayers for his recovery.

Revilla’s wife, Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado, also expressed her gratitude that her husband was able to be with them after their fight with the respiratory disease.

“Thank you so much to everyone who joined us in praying for his recovery,” he said.

Revilla announced that he tested positive for the coronavirus on August 9. He was rushed to the hospital on August 18 and was discharged about a week later.

He is the fourth senator to test positive for the virus, which has already infected more than 228,000 in the country.

The senators who were previously infected were Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri and Senators Sonny Angara and Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel Jr., all of whom have now recovered.
