The UAAP said Tuesday that it received the report of the investigation from the University of Santo Tomas on the alleged bubble training ground of its men’s basketball team in Sorsogon.

The league held a meeting Tuesday with the Interagency Task Force, the Philippine Sports Commission, the Board of Games and Amusements, the Department of Health (DOH) and the Commissioner of Higher Education regarding the complaint of non-compliance with the quarantine protocols.

“The meeting was an important step towards solving these problems that concern student-athletes from UAAP member schools.”

NU, whose women’s volleyball team is in trouble for facing the same accusation when it allegedly held its own training camp at its Laguna campus amid the coronavirus pandemic, attended the meeting and is also expected to present its own findings.

The various government agencies involved have also received a copy of the report submitted by UST.

The controversy involving the Growling Tigers has caused an exodus of players, including former captain CJ Cansino and rising star Rhenz Abando.

Cansino, who claimed to have been excluded from the team for insisting on returning home to his family, is now at the University of the Philippines.

Guard Brent Paraiso and big man Ira Bataller also left the Tigres, who last year had an inspiring finale to the 82nd UAAP season.
