Brent Paraiso has decided to leave the University of Santo Tomas.
According to multiple sources closely monitoring the situation, the 6-foot-2 swingman has dropped all his subjects for his next senior year.
“He has withdrawn all his subjects”, said one of the sources, who requested anonymity for fear of a backlash.
Paraíso was part of the three Growling Tigers that left the supposed bubble of Bicol last Wednesday. She was also with junior CJ Cansino and rookie Bismarck Lina.
With this, Paraíso will no longer be able to play in the UAAP.
The 22-year-old studied at La Salle from seasons 79 to 80, adding just 33 points, 26 rebounds and 10 assists during that time.
Along with his friend Ricci Rivero, Paraíso left La Salle in 2018 and moved to UST.
Paraíso was instrumental in UST’s road to the Finals in the 82nd season, posting norms of 7.2 points on 32 percent shooting from deep for 4.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
If you still want to play your final year of eligibility, it has to be in another league outside of UAAP. Or you could take a different route and play ABL or MPBL. You can also declare for the 2020 PBA Draft, having completed your D-League residency last year.
