Tony Ferguson has shown his bruised and bruised face after suffering a fracture of the eye socket in his loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC 249 on Saturday night.
Held amid stringent hygiene guidelines in an almost empty arena in Jacksonville, Florida, the main event was an exciting fight that saw defending champion Ferguson beaten by Gaethje for almost 25 minutes before the punishment finally turned too much.
Gaethje’s fifth round victory by TKO brings Ferguson’s 12-fight winning streak to an exciting end while lowering hopes that the super fight between Ferguson and reigning lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will take place in the short term.
Ferguson was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment and it has since been learned that the legendary UFC fighter suffered eye damage.
