CEBU CITY, Philippines – Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella ordered Sitio Bagumbuhay to be placed in Barangay Carreta under full confinement on Sunday, May 10, 2020.

In a statement from the Cebu City Public Information Office (PIO), Labella was quoted as saying that she had ordered the implementation of a total blockade at Sitio Bagumbuhay, where 450 people reside.

Negative is part of Sitio Bagumbuhay, which is classified as a poor urban community located along the General Maxilom Avenue Extension in downtown Cebu.

“The city government will also provide additional assistance to those who will be affected by the blockade by delivering rice and canned goods beginning Sunday, May 10, 2020,” they added.

As of Saturday, Cebu City has 1,474 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 11 deaths and 23 recoveries.
