MANILA, Philippines – ABS-CBN Sports + Action may have signed, but ABS-CBN Sports will continue to showcase the greatness of Filipino athletes on their digital platforms and the LIGA cable sports channel.

Some of its content is also available through ABS-CBN Sports’ social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, the ABS-CBN YouTube channel and the streaming service iWant.

ABS-CBN Director of Integrated Sports Dino Laurena said he is grateful for the technology as it eases the transition to the digital platform.

“It is good that more and more they are getting used to digital platforms. Due to the effect of COVID-19, it has led us to a greater appreciation of new technologies,” he said.

The presence of the online platform is even more important now after the cease and desist order from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) against ABS-CBN, which forced the media giant to stop its transmission operations on 5 May 2020 while the renewal of its franchise is still pending in Congress.

Those affected included S + A, but ABS-CBN had already been transitioning to an agile digital company with the largest online presence among local media organizations and a growing list of digital platforms.

However, ABS-CBN Sports found a way to deliver its content on television, where many people still prefer to watch their sporting events.

LIGA is now airing the fifth season of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League – Philippines.

The league’s Sunday hours include Geek Fam PH versus Execration, BSB versus Bren Esports, and SGD Omega versus Sunsparks at 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, and 4 pm, respectively.

Sports fans can also keep an eye out for S + A shows like the “Upfront” sports lifestyle show and “The Score” sports talk show.

A new show hosted by Mico Halili called “Homework” also recently debuted where athletes are expected to bring their “Game A” even off the field as they fight for school pride by answering questions about sports, pop culture, and current events.

Other original shows like “Extra Rice with Beau Belga” and “Kalye’s Confessions with Cherry Nunag,” where viewers can watch their favorite sports stars tell their own stories, will also continue to produce new episodes in “Eat At Home” and “Editions. Stay At Home “respectively.

Meanwhile, the daily Kapamilya Mass will continue to air at 8:30 am daily in LIGA, which will also stream replays of some of the best UAAP, NCAA and MPBL games. Spectators can also join coaches Jim and Toni Saret and Mickey Perz on Team FitFil at 5:30 a.m. daily, with repetitions at 3:30 p.m.
