LEGAZPI CITY –– Another nurse from a private hospital in Albay tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The patient is the second health worker in the province with the disease.

Antonio Ludovice, head of the Provincial Health Office, said the 21-year-old patient could have contracted the virus from the 28-year-old nurse who also tested positive for COVID-19.

He said the patient was asymptomatic and was now quarantined in the private hospital.

At least 10 people had a throat sample at the hospital on Monday, after confirming the positive case, Ludovice said.

Ernie Vera, director of the Department of Health in Bicol, said in a press release on Tuesday that the first nurse in the city of Daraga has already tested negative for COVID-19.

She was exposed to the 74-year-old COVID-19 patient who died last Sunday.
