MANILA, Philippines – A total of 9,269 recoveries recorded on Sunday reduced the country’s active COVID-19 case count to 21,980, data from the Department of Health (DOH) showed.
According to the DOH COVID-19 bulletin, there are 1,085 new cases registered, bringing the total cases to 449,400. The number of active cases represents 4.9 percent of the total number.
However, three more deaths bring the death toll to 8,733, or 1.94 percent of the total count.
Most of the active cases or 84.4 percent still experience mild symptoms, 5.8 percent are asymptomatic, while 3.2 percent have severe symptoms.
Another 6.3 percent of sick patients are currently in critical condition.
Most of the new cases originated in Quezon City with 103, followed by Rizal (46), Makati City (44), City of Manila (43) and Pasig City (39).
Of the positive cases recorded on Thursday, 1,086 positive cases came from the 26,603 tests performed on Wednesday.
