MANILA, Philippines – The total number of coronavirus cases in the country reached 469,886 after the Health Department recorded 883 new infections on Sunday.
The DOH also recorded 7,635 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 438,678.
This also reduced the number of active cases to 22,099.
Meanwhile, 42 patients succumbed to the deadly respiratory disease, bringing the death toll in the country to 9,109.
The DOH also said that two duplicates were removed from the total case count, which were recovered cases.
Meanwhile, 10 cases that were previously labeled as recovered were reclassified as deaths.
