The LA Clippers left a scoreboard with an unstoppable performance in Game 1 of their second-round series against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday, and now they will try to do it all again when the teams meet Saturday night in Game 2.
LA posted a 120-97 win in Game 1 that wasn’t even as close as that score suggests. After the teams tied the first quarter, the Clippers got on with the game, to the point that both teams emptied their benches early enough in the fourth quarter to stay fresh for another day.

The Clippers are also riding high after the news that Montrezl Harrell won the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year on Friday. The forward had an excellent Game 1, so hopefully the award and recognition for his contributions will push him forward for that NBA title.
I think the big question is whether the Nuggets will shrug in their first game and come out much stronger in the second game. Jamal Murray was unstoppable in his series against the Utah Jazz, but was very calm Thursday. The mental and physical cost of a seven-game series seemed to push Denver into Game 1. But they have already come down from a huge deficit in a series to win it, so LA will try to make sure the Nuggets are not given any hope. as this series progresses. And with LA healthy, finally, they were finally able to put that magical series of games together and build some rhythm as the series progresses, and hopefully the subsequent playoffs.
