CALAPÁN CITY –– However, when describing typhoon “Quinta” (international name: Molave) as one of the longest climatic disturbances to hit the province, the governor of Oriental Mindoro, Humerlito Dolor, said that so far no Victims have been reported, but two people were injured and rescued in the city of Baco.
He did not provide further details about the injured.
Different parts of the province were flooded and structures and houses were destroyed, he said.
Meanwhile, disaster personnel, police and soldiers continued clean-up operations on Monday to make roads passable after the typhoon dumped rain on Mindoro since Sunday night.
Among those damaged by Quinta is the national highway in Barangay Malinao in the city of Naujan, the provincial disaster risk reduction and management office said.
A rapid assessment of the extent of the damage is being prepared to help determine whether a declaration of a state of calamity will be proposed to the provincial board.
