2 dead and 4 injured in passenger bus fire in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines – Two people were killed and four others injured after a Fairview bus caught fire along Commonwealth Avenue in Barangay Greater Fairview in Quezon City on Sunday afternoon, the fire department said.

In a report, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in the National Capital Region said the bus with more than 20 passengers on board caught fire at 12:39 p.m. The fire reached the first alarm.

Firefighters and two fire trucks dispatched to the scene managed to extinguish the fire in less than an hour.

At press time, arson investigators have yet to identify the deaths. The origin of the fire is also being investigated.

Meanwhile, the BFP placed the damage amount at P50,000.
